My deepest apologies for the delay in posting. The Lonely Planet Uruguay team has been steadfastly gathering data in Montevideo and Punta del Este, and is currently readying for a trip to Buenos Aires to prepare the Getting Here and Away section. We promise to present you with a compiled report soon.
Until then, here’s a picture of a giant hand.

Ugh… I just finished reviewing my itinerary and realized that I’m definitely at risk for deep vein thrombosis. Here’s my flight plan for the next couple weeks (places I’m staying for more than a night are in bold — let me know if any of you will be around!):
Seattle => Sacramento => Los Angeles => Dallas => Buenos Aires => Montevideo (11/17-11/24) => Miami => Chicago => Detroit (11/24-11/30) => San Francisco (11/30-12/3) => Seattle

Two weeks, ten flights, and countless Lost-nightmare-ridden catnaps. Here’s hoping that there’s a metaphorical pot of gold at the end of the metaphorical rainbow…

Friends, family, Internet stalkers — I present to you the definitive reference guide on all things Uruguay.
The bold among you may bring up the fact that there’s nothing on this blog yet. That is true. But, there’s no Lonely Planet Uruguay either. (I visited quite a few bookstores.) And besides, the Pain travel blog theme is pretty played out.

My good friend Misty and I leave in a little less than 24 hours to spend a week in Uruguay and Argentina. I’ll try to keep this blog up to date with pictures and stories from the trip. But, now that I’ve gotten the important trip preparation out of the way, it’s time for me to stay up all night packing. Where did I put my watch again?
Hasta Montevideo!
